The Charm City Fan Company manufactures two products: large fans and medium fans. Each large fan requires 3 hours of wiring and 2 hours of drilling. Each medium fan requires 2 hours of wiring and 1 hour of drilling. There are 480 hours of wiring time available and 280 hours of drilling time available. Each large fan yields a profit of $12. Each medium fan yields a profit of $8. The company wants to manufacture 160 or fewer medium fans.
(a) Formulate a linear programming model to maximize total profit for this problem. (b) Find the optimal solution of this model by hand using the corner points graphical method.
I have two samples, one is 31.2% and one is 22.6%. I am trying to calculate the 95% confidence interval in context of this situation. ALso i need the formula that is used to calculate the interval and substitute appropiate numerical values into the f..
When constructing your decision tree, you can reuse the EMV for the outcome after the decision to not hire the consulting team.
Suppose the correlation between two variables x and y is due, in part, to the fact that y is responding to changes in some unobserved third variable. What is this due to?
If a manufacturer charges x dollars each for soccer balls, then he can sell 3000 - 150x soccer balls per week. Find a polynomial that represents the revenue for one week.
If you are performing a hypothesis test using a z statistic in which you sampled 50 people and found an average SAT verbal score of 542 (assume we know the population mean to be 500 and the standard deviation to be 100)
Gestational Age (Gestage, weeks) for sample of 100 low birth weight infants, and output from fitting a simple linear regression model to data, regressing Headcirc (Y) on Gestage (X).
Describe a study you might design that could use the Chi Square statistic. What are the variables? What are the null and alternative hypotheses? Why would the Chi Square test be appropriate for this design?
What is the 90% confidence interval estimate of the difference between the two population means? How do the results compare in all the three approaches to hypothesis testing?
Explain which data techniques you are most familiar with/have used: in a previously done project that involved the collection and analysis of data and explain why the examination of collected data is so important.
Using the .10 level of significance, can we conclude that the assembly time using the new method is faster?
The hole diameter is carefully measured (in cm) for 12 randomly chosen parts. At α = .05, do these independent random samples prove that the new process has smaller variance?
