One theory to focus on is Virginia Henderson's Need Theory. According to Abdul Majeed et al. (2023), this theory focuses on increasing patient's independence to improve their recovery. The theory directly relates to patient care since assumptions made by this theory are that nurses take care of patients until they can take care of themselves, patients always desire to return to their normalcy, and nurses among other healthcare providers are always devoted to taking care of patients day and night.
