Stage why you find this philosophically problematic. Clearly state the problem you see or ask a philosophical question about it. Be kind in your responses. I believe a person can be recognized after death. If you exist, why would you not exist in some form that appears enough like your body in some manner that you are recognizable for others, specifically family. Otherwise there would be chaos and no one would know who anyone is! You would show up to heaven and you would never know who anyone is. This idea that your image stays similar is no longer a religious idea. There is a whole genre of pier reviewed studies called near death experiences. This is a phenomena in which people are dead for a short period of time, see and recognize their deceased relatives, and their dead relatives see and recognize them. Essentially, this shows that the way you appear on earth continues on. My opinion is that it is not as if you are a vapor of smoke or a cloud or a mysterious light source, you continue to be you. Most near death experiences describe when meeting a family member, that person looks as they were during the prime years of their life. So if someone died at age 100 and you saw them in the afterlife, they would be in their prime.
