You are a resident of New York City who wants to advocate for a certain policy for a certain population segment, and you to compose a policy advocacy plan. Choose one hypothetical policy agenda from below, or choose one of your own. You are also welcome to choose one below and modify it as you would like. Then you will answer the following questions, and make them into one coherent narrative for your DB post. Use subheadings and other formatting options (boldface/italics/underline/etc) for easier, effective reading. Be as specific as you can on all the details.

What is your chosen policy agenda/goal? Be S.M.A.R.T.
Define whom you need to reach and involve, and briefly say why (e.g., policymakers/legislative contacts at the City Council, any other governmental contacts, stakeholders including who can be your advocacy partners, directly affected citizens, families and friends of directly affected citizens, various community leaders and organizations, etc etc etc.). Think about what your target audiences care about, and what they need to do their respective jobs in this advocacy plan. Also think about what level of influence they have, who influences them (influencer, saboteur)?
Develop a key message/pitch (you will need to do some online search to get data). What are the "key words/phrases that work"?
Tailor this message for various channels (such as media - online, paper, TV, radio, street outreach, etc etc. - choose min 1 and max 3)
Propose how the City might find and allocate the budget necessary for this policy (you will want to do some high-level search to guess ball-park of the cost - do not worry about being very accurate!). You will need to understand what options the City government has to find/create budget to pay for new policies, and how it approves the proposed budget.
