Many accountants, in order to accelerate their professional careers, will seek professional certifications. While the certified public accountant (CPA) examination is acknowledged as the most recognized of the certifications, others in the field, such as the certified internal auditor (CIA), certified fraud examiner (CFE), and the certified management accountant (CMA), are also recognized in importance.
