Question

A 65-year-old female presents to the ED with indications of a stroke. She is alert and she knows her age and the month. She cannot make a fist with the left hand and has a grip only on the right side. She can follow your pen light with both eyes without gaze palsy or deviation. She has vision in all visual fields. She has a pronounced left-sided facial droop leading to unequal eyebrow raising and inability to show her teeth but she can close both eyelids. Her left arm and leg are unable to remain in the air when you elevate them, they fall to the bed immediately. She is able to make small movements with left hand and foot. The right arm and leg have no drift noted. Limb ataxia is absent. She has moderate loss of sensation to the left side of the face, arm, and leg when compared to the right. She is able to identify common objects and can read a sentence but her speech is slurred. No extinction or inattention is noted. List 10 common signs and symptoms of a stroke.
