Factors that Affect Vital Signs and there Recordings vitals We have several factors that can potentially affect one or more of the vital signs. These factors are things like age, gender, heredity, race, lifestyle, environment, medications, pain, and other factors such as exercise and metabolism, anxiety, and stress. It is important for us to understand not only how to accurately measure these results, but also understand how the results we get can be affected. Choose one of the possible factors (age, gender, heredity, race, lifestyle, environment, medications, pain, and other factors such as exercise and metabolism, anxiety, and stress) that affect vital signs in the body and complete some research. What factor did you choose? How does it affect our vital signs? What vital signs does that factor affect (does it only affect temperature, or blood pressure, etc)? Can the patient make a positive change (like lifestyle) to alter how that factor affects them? When taking their vital signs in the office, how can you make sure that you are measuring them accurately?
