Ammonium nitrite, NH4NO2, will decompose to yiel nitrogen gas and water Vapor by the following equation:

NH4NO2 (s) ------ 2H2O (g) + N2 (g)

A sample of 25.0g NH4NO2 was heated at 100 degee C in a 10.0 L reaction vessel until all the NH4NO2 had decomposed and H2O and N2 had formed.

At the end of the reaction

a) what is the total pressure in the reaction vessel?

b) what is the partial pressure of N2?

c) If the volume of the reaction vessel is decreased to 5.0 L, would you expect the pressure of the gases to increase or decrease?
