Per the American Nurses Association (2015) Provision 5: nurses are to maintain integrity, they are to only share credible information, chart accurately, and avoid sharing misrepresenting data or withholding information from the patient. The provision includes that if the situation violates the code of ethics for nurses, the nurse can compromise on how to handle the acceptable situation within their ethics.
