CASE SCENARIO:

Tom is excited that he recently landed a new job, but he is nervous about fitting in. Upon the first meeting, his supervisor immediately gets down to business, assigning goals and roles, and paired Tom with the more experienced employee, Debra.

Debra has seen countless people like Tom come to her before, and she is sick and tired of being the new employee babysitter. Debra all but ignores Tom throughout the day. Tom seems clueless as to what to do at his new job, and is afraid to talk to anyone else. Tom decides to quit his new job one week later; leaving him jobless and the business looking for yet another new employee.
