Assignment:
Lana Mckay handed you the below client's case:
You are working as the human resource manager at "The work done construction" eatery. Since it is a small business, and they do not have enough resources to hire an HR team, you are responsible for all the HR functions. Sometimes it is challenging to perform all the HR functions independently, but your college degree prepared you well to cope with these challenges.
Today one employee declined to perform his duty citing environmental dangers to the site manager. The site manager got upset and asked the employee to return to work, but he declined. So, the site manager sent the employee home and fired him. So, the employee contacted you and asked for a meeting. The employee believes that he was wrongfully dismissed, and he is asking you to get re-instated. You agreed to meet the employee but did not promise him anything.
Shortly afterward, you called the site manager to get insight into why he fired the employee. The site manager cited a major hazard on site, and the employee was asked to remove it. When the employee declined to carry out his duty, he was dismissed and fired. You thanked the construction site manager and hung up the phone. You decided to refer to the "Guide to the Occupational Health and Safety Act" to decide on whether the employee should be reinstated.
