What would be the explanation for using the GAD-7 assessment for a client who is feeling on edge, having trouble sleeping, experiencing chest palpitations, gaining weight, nervousness and having racing thoughts, sweaty hands and changes in his eyesight. The client finds himself falling asleep on the sofa, after which he wakes up around 2 am to move to his bed, at which point his thoughts create a challenge in going back to bed. He describes his sleep as a lighter state of somnolence, as being "consciously awake while sleeping", lacking the restfulness of deep sleep. The client sought professional help given how overwhelmed he has been feeling, as well as feeling helpless with respect to how to address his current state.

Additionally, he has been finding these new symptoms have affected his daily activities and overall well-being. His financial concerns are regarding his savings and investments, which have been reduced significantly in the past month, creating uncertainty in his life, which have resulted in him feeling like this.
