Overview
This assignment has three major aims:
– To help students gain good understanding of all ITECH1102 theoretical and practical material.
– To encourage students to use content analysis summaries to prepare for tests, examinations and to help theirunderstanding of theoretical concepts.
– To encourage students to conduct independent investigation into networking related topics from books, the Internet and through practical investigation.Timelines and Expectations
Students are required to analyse three topics based on students' surname from the weekly lecture material of topics 1 to 8 and create concise content analysissummaries of the theoretical concepts contained in the course lecture slides. The content analysis for each topic should not exceed approximately five (5) A4 sides of paper if that topics content were printed.
Wherethe lab content orinformation contained in technical articles from the Internet or books helps to fully describe the lecture slide content, discussion of such theoretical articles or discussion of the lab material should be included in the content analysis.
Suggestions as to possible inclusions in your content analysis will appear in weekly Work Plan documents on Moodle.
The ultimate aim of this assessment task is to help ITECH1102 students to fully comprehend the course material and hence help them to pass tests and the examination.
By the start of week 10 all students should have completed their content analysis for three topics based on the surname.

Assessment Details
At the start of week 10 details will be available in the assessment section of Moodle as to the specific topics each student must submit.

ITSM Assignment
Overview
ITSM is one of the key functionalities for organizationsand allows organizations to achieve higher customer satisfaction, reduce delivery time, and provide service support as per customer requirement. In this assignment, students need to explore various aspects of ITSM in an organisation or a company that provides IT servicesand explain how ITSM can enhance business proposition. Examples could be Department of Education and Training, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Jobs, Amazon, and HP.
The aim of this assignment is to
• Engage students with ITECH7400 material from Weeks 1 to 8;
• Encourage students to conduct independent investigation into related topics from books, the Internet, and through practical investigation.
• Understand what service management means and how it is applied in practice;
• Evaluatea practical case with respect to service management best practices;
• Understand how the services create business value in a practical case;
• Understand how the service management could be developed and enhanced in practice; and
• Plan and implement service management improvements in practice.

Brief description for ITSM first assignment which includes a report and presentation:
There is a guideline in the assessment folder which clarifies what ITSM assignment is about. You need to pick an organisation and should write a report in regards to IT service management applied to that particular organisation. You are required to cover all topics mentioned from Weeks 1 to 7. For example, you need to pint out how various phases of ITIL are implemented in that particular organisation, etc.
