6. Provide a bride explanation of the basics of the human body system.
Feedback mechanisms-Service delivery plan effectiveness
1. Create 'Essential Service Providers' list that identifies services to meet client needs (Internal and External to a Facility/Home).
Details below, the title of who you consulted with and how you arrived at the client meeting such services.
Case Study B:
Today you have been given a client who has been receiving care and support from your organization for five years from the same carer. The carer has just finished work with your organization. You have read over your new client, Miss Rose's care plan. She has been living inden=pendenly for many years, but informed her previous carer last week, that her sister, who she sees every week, had suddenly passed away.
Today she seems distant and not able to communicate clearly, often speaking in first language, Italian, which she apparently does not do during carer visits. There is a very bad smell in her home and you notice that there are some heavy boxes in the hallway that make it difficult to get to the bathroom easily.
Miss Rose seems to be unclear in her responses and communication, and she does not get up and make a cup of tea for you both as she usually likes to do. You are concerned about her health and safety.. You make a cup of tea for you both and sit and talk with her. While you are in the kitchen, you notice that the element on the stove is on but nothing is on it. You also have a mild slip in the kitchen, you notice that the element on the stove is on but nothing is on it. You also have a mild slip in the kitchen from a puddle of water.
1. Identify risks or potential risks to Miss Rose, including safety, health and uncharacteristic behavior you have identified in the scenario.
2. Identify the workplace policies and procedures you must consider when ensuring you and Miss Rose are not at risk of risk of harm or injury, and how would you report these risks?
Identifying manual handling hazards
Case Study C:
You are a direct care worker. One of the tasks in your role is causing you problems. You need to assist a client on a regular basis to get into and out of a car. You have noticed recently that this person, who used to need the assistance of one person, is now less mobile and you are afraid that transferring them on your own has become a safety issue.
1. What are the potential hazards in this scenario?
2. What action should you take to minimize the manual handling risks to yourself?
Misconceptions surrounding the use of pain-relieving mediation:
1. what are two (2) common misconceptions regarding the use of strong pain-relieving medications for terminal care clients? what is your view in their use?
2. What is your view in their use?
Following established manual handling procedures and work instructions for minimizing manual handling activity/risk
1. Identify four (4) situations where you could cause an injury to yourself or a person that you support during a manual handling task, then describes how you would avoid injury In that situation each . Be specific (i.e. don't just say correct lifting). Use of body biomechanics.
Cultural Consideration
1. Research a culture (not Australian or your own country of origin) and list five (5) aspects of that culture that may affect the way in which personal care is facilitated.
2. Briefly write what is meant by the term culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD). How might you act in a culturally respectful manner with such people when facilitating care in an Aged Care or HACC context?
3. Briefly describe two (2) communication strategies that are culturally respectful and develop trust with clients.
