Assignment:

Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) kill around one out of every three people in the United States. Infection control refers to the process of preventing infection from spreading. Hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, and correct environmental cleaning are all part of it (Haque et al., 2018). Infections are one of the top causes of mortality across the globe. Infections kill around one out of every three people in the United States. HAIs (hospital-acquired infections) represent a significant source to this burden. Infections that arise while undergoing treatment for another ailment in a healthcare environment are known as HAIs. Healthcare-associated infections are an issue for a variety of reasons.

One explanation is that people in healthcare settings are often sicker and have poorer immune systems than the general population. They are more vulnerable to infection as a result of this. Another factor is that healthcare facilities bring individuals from all walks of life together. As a result, the odds of disease transmission rise. In hospital settings, there are several techniques to prevent the transmission of illness. One of the most crucial aspects is hand hygiene. Handwashing should be done properly and often by healthcare personnel, particularly before and after dealing with patients. When engaging with patients, personal protection equipment (PPE) such as gloves, gowns, and masks should be used. Cleaning the environment is also crucial. In hospital environments, surfaces should be cleansed and disinfected on a regular basis (CDC, 2022).
