Personal Learning Plan

Assessment Overview

This assessment requires you to identify and critically analyse an issue from your personal professional placement experience that impacts children's health, nutrition, safety, ethics, or overall wellbeing within the Australian early childhood education and care (ECEC) context.

Drawing on your placement observations, relevant research, policies, and legislation, you will develop an individual teaching plan that responds to the identified issue through evidence-informed pedagogical strategies. You will also reflect on how you would communicate and collaborate with children, families, and colleagues to promote positive outcomes for children's health and wellbeing.

Your response should demonstrate your ability to connect theory, policy, and practice, while applying an understanding of the Australian ECEC framework, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0), National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and relevant child safety legislation and standards.

Discuss:

How you would introduce and explain the issue to children in an age-appropriate and meaningful way.
