Mr. T, a 60-year-old, has just had high abdominal surgery under general anesthetic four days ago. He is very fearful and has a history of being obese and a heavy smoker. Mr. T has developed a temperature of 39° and is coughing up green coloured mucus. He complains of chest pain and chills and is having difficulty breathing. As well, he is complaining of pain in his leg calf and you notice some warmth and inflammation of the calf area.

Some of the doctor's orders include bed rest, coughing exercises, and leg exercises.
