Crisis Response Plan

One of the functions that practitioners may employ in responding to crises in the community is to develop and implement a crisis response plan. Crisis response plans include who will be involved in the response, what their roles will be, how efforts will be coordinated among helpers, ensuring that proper training and orientation are administered, and preparing psychologically for crisis response, including understanding the effects of secondary trauma and the importance of self-care.

Question 1: Explain how the institution can prepare for the potential crisis.

Question 2: Explain how the institution will respond during the crisis.

Question 3: Explain postvention strategies to respond to the traumatic event after it has occurred.

Question 4: Explain any cultural, ethical, and/or legal issues related to the crisis response plan. Consider each stage of the plan: preparation, implementation, follow-up.
