As we know there is much hype about using AJAX which is basically using old technologies in a new way. But when deciding whether or not to use this technology an organization must also weigh in some of the disadvantages. For example, browser compatibility is a key concern among organizations considering this technology. After all, what good would all this interactive web content be good for if the end-user's browser did not support Javascript for example?

What are some of the other drawbacks to using AJAX technology? Why are some of these very important items to consider before implementing AJAX on a given website?
