Mr. MM is 57 y/o African American male patient at your primary care clinic. You are reviewing his recent laboratory results. Laboratory studies show potassium level of 3.6 mmol/L, sodium 143 mmol/L, BUN 21mg/dL, Creatinine 1.53 mg/dL, GFR 57/mL, and Hgb A1C 5.6. Medical history includes diagnosis of controlled type 2 diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. Current meds include Amlodipine, Metoprolol, Lisinopril, Fenofibrate, Omega -3 fatty acids. Body mass index is 30.4 kg/m2. Pulse rate is 64/min and blood pressure is 150/90 mmHg. Physical examination shows no abnormalities.
