Both p-chlorotoluene and p-chhlorobenzoic acid dissolve in methylene chlroide (CH2Cl2) I need to make a flow chart seperate a mixture of them already in methelyene chloride. I beleive that p-chlorotoluene is a neutral molecule thus it won't react with HCl allowing me to easily seperate it from the carboxylic acid
Also Benzoic acid reactis with sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) causing the benzoic acid to take up the sodium on one of the oxygen molecule and making HCO2OH
If I have .0888g of potassium hydrogen sulfate, its density is 2.322g/mL and its molecular weight is 136.17g/mol how many mols do I have
if air contains 78 n2 by volume what is the solubility of n2 in water of 25oc and 1 atm henrys constant kh for n2 in
Phosphoric acid, H3PO4(aq), is a triprotic acid, meaning that one molecule of the acid has three acidic protons. Estimate the pH, and the concentrations of all species in a 0.100 M phosphoric acid solution.
Magnesium sulfate, MgSO4, is added to 461 mL of 0.030 M sodium hydroxide, NaOH, until a precipitate just forms. How many grams of magnesium sulfate were added?
When solutions of strong electrolytes are formed in water, the ions are surrounded by water molecules. These interactions may be described as
Consider a house into which radon is emitted through cracks in the basement. The total volume of the house is 650 m^3 (assume the volume is well mixed throughout). The radon source emits 250 pCi/s
The specific heat of water is 4.184 J/gxC. Assume the density of th water is 1.00g/mL and there is no heat lost or gained by the calorimeter.
Many home barbeques are fueled with propane gas C3H8 What mass of carbon dioxide (in kg}) is produced upon the complete combustion of 18.9 { L} of propane (approximate contents of one 5-gallon tank)
Consider a solution that is 1.1*10^-2 M in Ba2+ and 2.0*10^-2 M in Ca2+. A - If sodium sulfate is used to selectively precipitate one of the cations while leaving the other cation in solution, which cation will precipitate first? Ba2+ precipitates..
determine what is the observed rate for the given reaction 2 o3g -rarr 3 o2g has an empirically determined rate law
