Question

Experimental and Non experimental Research

Experimental research design is a framework of protocols and procedures that are created to conduct experimental research with a scientific approach. Experimental research is conducted using the two sets of variables. In most cases experimental research is conducted using a controlled and objective fashion. There are various examples that can be identified for an experimental research. Experimental research is important in the research process as it helps provide a road map on how the data was obtained ("Mixed methods research," 2020). It serves as a road map to the study method and hence it is easy for the researcher to properly analyse the data that is provided. An example of an experimental research design is a clinical trial. An example of a clinical trial where the researcher is placed into control and treatment groups. The non-experimental research ensures that the different groups exist and the experimenter cannot manipulate the independent variable. The type of research allows the researcher to compare the existing groups based on the variables that the researcher did not manipulate. In most cases non experimental research is mainly observational ("Mixed methods research," 2020). An example of an observational study involves when a health care provider observes the behaviour of patients towards a certain treatment. Health care providers constantly use evidence based practices and this is important in ensuring that quality is achieved and health care providers are able to identify solutions to some of the problems. The two types of research are different in that in experimental research the control is higher than that in the non-experimental research design.
