If counselors are unaware of their individual and/or culture-specific assumptions and values, they may compromise their effectiveness in helping traumatized survivors. In Chapter 2 of Crisis Intervention Strategies (James & Gilliland, 2017), 13 examples of culturally biased assumptions are listed. Find one with which you identify and briefly discuss.
