This is a 58 y/o white male who presents today for evaluation wounds to his left lower extremity amputation site. He is s/p below the knee amputation of the left leg in December. The amputation was done due to a diabetic wound which progressed to osteomyelitis. He states that the wound has just not healed since surgery. The wound vac was removed yesterday which has improved but the wound vac may have caused some breakdown between wounds. The wounds are located on the left and right edge of the amputation site. He rates that pain occasionally a 5/10 but currently is not having any pain.
