As a DSW, you will work closely with clients and at times, their families. Sometimes the lines of professional relationships can be blurred and it may be difficult to navigate how to respond in the moment. Based on the discussions, DSW Standards of Practice, legislation and code of ethics reviewed, select TWO of the scenarios outlined below and answer the following:

1. What is the ethical dilemma?

2. Explain how you would respond to the situation.

3. Explain how you would support your response (if applicable include appropriate DSW Standards of Practice, legislation or DSW Code of Ethics principal).

You have been asked to cover a shift with a client in another home. Your manager did not provide you with a lot of information, just that this particular client requires some "extra care". Upon arrival the manager shares that the client's "extra care" is in reference to severe self-injurious behaviour. The client is biting himself until he breaks skin and is bleeding. You have also noticed that he has hives on his skin and he is scratching all over his body.
