Daisy has returned to hospital after managing her PD symptoms fairly well for the past year. She continues to have slow stiff movement that begun to progressed and are less responsive to her medications. She has experienced another fall and this time she has fractured her leg. She underwent a ORIF of the left femur complicated by blood loss and is now post op day 1 on the ward. Today she has developed what is thought to be post-operative anemia due to intraoperative blood loss. Daisy also has a history of low iron levels in the past prior to her PD diagnosis. Her hemoglobin is 82 g/L currently and she is to be transfused with two units of packed red blood cells. She is reporting extreme fatigue and some dyspnea with exertion.
