Imagine you lived in a world where being your sexual orientation, heterosexual, was debated during elections, many religions and sometimes, inside your own family called it shameful and a sin.
Imagine being heterosexual was not a protected class for employment. At work you pay close attention to how you use pronouns when asked about who you are dating, "I haven't found someone yet" "Oh, I'm seeing someone and we're having a nice time".
Imagine being heterosexual might have your family cut off ties with you financially, physically, and emotionally.
Imagine in the media you watch, read, the music you listen to that you rarely see or hear of a heterosexual character, couple, or lyrics in a love song that match your sexual orientation.
Imagine you were being threatened by a colleague who saw you at a "straight bar" and that they were going to out you to everyone. Would you come out to your family as straight? Would you come out to your friends? Your work? Your faith community?
