Interestingly, this was a very impressive article to read. At some point, we will realize that the healthcare itself isn't enough tool only for treating to each individual. This author wants us to see and go beyond individual level of healthcare and reach out to societal level by addressing health inequity. Improving societal equity always has been the issue in healthcare system. The author shows us a wide range of practical solutions and paths for finding way out from health disparity. This article suggests how to achieve equitable health care in different social areas and helps us to see through current problems of health inequities in communities that should be addressed at a higher level. (Social policies, racism, and societal reform etc.) The second-to-last paragraph in this article was the part which made me look at and think what nurse's role should be in achieving health equity. In regards to nurse's role about addressing healthy disparity, I realized that nurses should not only stay in the individual level but also be in the frontline in collaboration with community leaders and help shape social policies.
