ASSESSMENT TASK 1 REQUIREMENTS

Assessment 1: Video

Description: In this task, you are required to create a 6-minute video recording (including both audio and visual components) that demonstrates your emerging understanding of leadership in an early childhood education and care (ECEC) setting. The video should reflect critical and reflective thinking about your professional learning journey and your emerging identity as an early childhood professional.

Drawing on key frameworks and guiding documents, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the National Quality Framework (NQF), the ECA Code of Ethics, and other relevant scholarly readings, you are expected to:

Identify and explain the leadership style and/or model you align with or aspire to adopt in an early childhood setting.

Articulate the professional commitments you make as a future early childhood teacher, particularly in relation to children, colleagues, and families.

Discuss the implications for practice, explaining how your leadership approach and ethical commitments will influence your everyday professional decisions, relationships, collaboration and practices within an early childhood setting.

Your submission will include:

Your video presentation (visual and audio)
A script/transcript* and a complete reference list (on a word document)
* A script/transcript is a word for word of what you say in your video.

How to upload video and/or .rvt assignments to OneDrive and LMS

Go to office.com
Sign in using your Microsoft365 credentials
Click on the nine dots in the top left-hand corner and choose "OneDrive"
Click on "Add New" then "Files upload".
Select the file you wish to upload. The file's upload status is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Once it's uploaded, go to "My files".
Click on the "share" icon next to the three dots that appear on your file's row.
Click on the "Settings" wheel icon next to "Copy link".
Choose the "Anyone" option.
Under "More settings", adjust the access permissions.
o Markers may need to download/edit the file for grading, leave "Can EDIT" enabled (recommended unless instructor says otherwise)
Click "Apply".
Click "Copy link".
Test the link: Open a Private or incognito browser on your device and paste the link. If the file appears without issues, follow the next step. If it does not appear, check your settings again.
Copy and paste the link to your Assignment page with your assignment cover, script, reference list, then submit the document.
