Surgical removal of the anterior pituitary (eg in tumors) results in dramatic decrease in blood levels of hormones such as thyroxin, cortisol, and sex hormones (estradiol, testosterone). This can be accompanied by decrease in size of the glands that produce these hormones. Explain in a few words the reason for this finding; you can also use a drawing.
