Descriptive Statistics: (1-2 pages)

Include descriptive statistics for both quantitative variables. Include the mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation for each.

Construct a 95% confidence interval for both variables and interpret the intervals. Determine the margin of error for the intervals.

Provide graphical summaries.

- Histogram, boxplot or stem-and-leaf for quantitative data (at least two different graphs must be included in project).

- Summarize the graphs. Why did you choose to display the data the way you did?

- Is the shape of the data roughly Normal?

Analysis: (1-2 pages)

1. Determine the relationship between the two variables from a scatterplot. Include the scatterplot in your project.

2. Test if there is a significant linear correlation (use α = 0.05) by determining your hypothesis, test statistic, p-value and your conclusion.

3. Does your test show statistical significance? Does the test have any practical significance? Explain.

4. Identify the regression equation and predict a y-value for an x-value you select that is within the scope of your sample data.

5. Identify possible Type I or II error for your hypothesis. Discuss the impact of a potential error in your decision making.

Final Conclusion: (1-2 paragraphs) ____________

1. Summarize your final conclusions based on your sample data and your initial stated goals for the study.

2. Were you were surprised by the results of your project or did your summary verify what you suspected? Why or why not?

3. Discuss any confounding (lurking) variables that might influence the results.

4. Make any recommendations for further studies on this topic. Discuss what you have learned by doing this project.
