Assignment:

When I was a child, I used to play the board game "Operation."

In this game, you try to place the plastic organs in the right slots without touching the sides of the holes. If your (metal) tongs touched the (metal) sides of the holds, a terrifying (to me, at least) buzzer would sound. The first time I played the game, I didn't know this, so I touched the side and experienced the buzzer. I very quickly pulled my tongs back to make the buzzing stop. After that, I tried very hard not to touch the metal sides of the holes. Relate this to our topic of aversive control.

1. Does my behavior the first time I played represent escape or avoidance learning? What was the SD, Ro, and SR? (Note that the SR will be a negative reinforcer)

2. Does my behavior in subsequent games represent escape or avoidance learning? What was the SD, Ro, and SR? (Note that the SR will be a negative reinforcer)
