Shandra Wilkinson is a registered medical assistant (RMA). On her way to work, she witnesses a severe multivehicle accident. Shandra stops to provide assistance. She performs CPR on a victim at the scene of the accident. The victim is revived and is transported to the emergency room by emergency medical technicians, who arrived later on the scene. Unfortunately, two of the other victims did not survive the injuries they sustained and died hours later at the local hospital. Shandra provides the police with a full account of her actions. Two months after the accident, she receives notification that the victim she assisted during the accident is planning to sue her because she broke a rib while performing CPR. He is suing for damages sustained from the result of the broken bone.
