Question

John Wilson is a 74-YO schoolteacher. He is 5'8'' tall and weighs 136#. His wife died nine months ago. During a routine visit to the doctor, it was noted that his weight has decreased 21# since his visit a year ago. Mr. Wilson does not have any medical problems, though he does report feeling depressed and lonely. The MD ordered a panel of lab tests including Hgb, HCT, albumin, which were all low.

1. Document the nutrition care process.

2. Anthropometric Assessment in Adults. What is Mr. Wilson's body weight? Calculate the following: BMI, Ideal body weight (IBW); IBW% and %UBW.

3. Determine if Mr. Wilson is at nutritional risk. Does Mr. Wilson have any nutritional implications? List all implications.
