What is the ICD-10 code for the following scenario?

After a child was taken into the doctor because of a sore throat, as a result, the doctor did an in office strep test and sent it out to the lab. The lab test wouldn't be back until the next day, so as a precaution the doctor wanted to prescribe a medication just in case it came back positive.

Before the doctor wrote the prescription, he/she asked the patient and the mother if the patient had any allergies, they named a few but couldn't remember the last one. As a result, the doctor prescribed penicillin. Under the supervision of the mother, the patient did take the correct dose that night and the next morning. The patient went to school the next day, and started to break out in hives. The patient called her mother and told her that he/she broke out in hives. By that time, the office got back to the mom to inform her that the strep test was positive. The doctor prescribed a different medication due to breaking out in hives.

Since the patient took the prescribed amount, this is considered an adverse effect.
