Reading the 2 chapters on Older Adults and Women's Health, watch the YouTube video about Depression in Older Adults up through the 15 minute mark where the topic switches from the IMPACT model to the PATCH model. (Watching the rest of the video is optional.) The IMPACT model of population-based healthcare is an example of IBH in primary care. The targeted patient population is older adults, and the treatment focus is depression. The IMPACT outcome measures have been successful enough that the model is now identified as evidence-based. Imagine a similar initiative targeting peri- and postpartum depression among new mothers in a primary care setting. The mothers would be screened for perinatal depression during pregnancy and postpartum depression when they brought their infants into the clinic for checkups.

- How might the IMPACT model need to be adapted for pregnant and postpartum women in terms of: selection of screening tools and timing/frequency of screening use of prescription medication for treatment.
