For the second half of the semester, we will get into some more talked about and controversial topics when it comes to sports. Chapter eight starts out talking about sporting behavior, ethics, and moral behavior. As current athletes, or younger athletes, what influenced your attitude on the floor, court and/or field? Do you recall looking up to a specific player/coach and developing some of their "in game attitudes"? Was there a specific event you can recall that may have changed your "in game attitude" or the way you act after a win or a loss? Do you feel that you fit into Kohlberg's stage of Moral Development appropriately? What is your experience in working with athletes in each age group? Do you feel they followed these trends? Do you still find it difficult to break the barriers to good sporting behavior? Do you still have some habits that may not be the best practice to win? How can you work on fixing these?
