Question
In this session we will use two cases to deep dive the concepts learned in Module 9 Short-Term Scheduling and 10 Lean Operations, compare different approaches and analyze pros/cons of each of them.
1. The first case. We will help Mr. Schmidt to recommend the best approaches to help Dilulu Dishwasher performance to be back at high efficiency.
As preparation, read the case, discuss in your team the different Lean approaches that can be taken and cost/impacts.
- Compare options, build a new joint recommendation identifying costs/ tradeoffs and risk.
2. The second case will be around our dear friends at Sole'd Out. As they're getting ready to present their recommendation to the CEO, we can help them with ensuring the E2E supply chain is efficient. Thinking about the whole chain from source to shelf, I would like us to do a Value Stream Mapping of all possible inefficiency and recommend potential solutions. When it comes to workforce and production, we will leverage also the scheduling considerations from Module 9. Compare and discuss the different options as a whole group. Think also in terms of a global supply chain and what OM decisions could you take to increase resilience, agility and ensure level of service.
