CLASSMATE'S DISCUSSION

The discussion board that will always stick with me was regarding "considering Theory X and Theory Y to leadership and best described me and an example of a person whom I think describes one of the theories." I chose Theory Y because I am a ambitious and I give 150% when I do my job. When I played basketball, I studied the plays and implemented the information and took directions very well. Now my telecommunications business is the same way. All aspects of this company have to be on point and no room for errors. This is a telecommunications business and if people or businesses do not have a signal that means I am not doing an effective job. I go beyond the call of duty and I guide myself. At some point all businesses need to be upgraded or improvements. But my example that I always think about is Irvin "Magic" Johnson. He had a purpose after retiring from the league. He had a vision and a purpose to be a boss and he did it. Mr. Johnson has several movie theaters across the US, Starbucks, and Burger Kings. He is definitely Theory Y, he did not allow others or circumstances deter him from achieving his goals. I feel the same way and I plan on expanding my business in two other states within the next two years.
