Jack had a car to sell. On Monday, Peter and Jack discussed the possibility of Peter buying Jack's car. Jack told Peter he could buy the car for £5,000. Peter said he would let Jack know later that day if he wanted to buy the car. The next day Jack sold the car to Fred, as he thought he had not heard from Peter. However, Jack later found a text message on his mobile phone, sent by Peter on Monday. The text message stated that Peter would buy the car for £5,000. Peter is now insisting that Jack sells him the car because he thinks an agreement was reached between them on Monday and if not, he will take legal action against Jack.
