Matty is a 25-year-old (1/12/1997) man with Muscular Dystrophy. He is deaf in his left ear and partially in his right ear since birth, he also has epilepsy, which is controlled with medications. He currently lives at a Young care Facility in Sydney. He has been living at this facility for the past 2 years. Prior to that, he lived with his parents John and Maureen Henderson, he is their only child. He is very close with his parents who visit him at least 5 days a week.
Sarah Cuttle is Matty's primary carer at the facility. She is also 25 years old. She usually takes him on social outings to the shops or beach etc. She has known Matty since he came to the facility.
Sarah, on her days off, often goes to the beach. She tagged Matty on Facebook in a picture of her at the beach saying, "wishing you were here". Matty's parents saw the picture and reported Sarah to the Manager at the facility.
Sarah has had an interview with the Facility Manager and has been re-educated on the correct use of social media.
Matty's parents no longer want her to care for him, however they see her talking to him on one of their visits and become distressed with the situation.
As an EN at the facility you are responsible for overseeing the care and services provided to all residents.
