All the disorders in this category share one commonality: the presence of somatic symptoms is associated with actual client distress.

14-year-old male athlete Simon fell in gym class sustaining a head injury. He developed headaches and child-like mannerisms and insisted he was 11 years old. CT and MRI brain were negative. He was unable to count to 10 but was accurate on multiplication. He read well but was unable to recite the alphabet. His biological mother recently returned to his life.

Using the information from Simon's scenario, address the following:
