As you know, Hays's ADDRESSING model (Hays, 2016) discusses the ten major cultural groups in the United States and the social majority and minority groups for each. While psychologists hold therapeutic space for many different types of people, we are complex people ourselves.

We have cultural identities and layers that determine how we show up in spaces. It might be easier for us to show up in culture-free and unbiased spaces, but it's not possible.

Talk about three of your cultural identities that impact how you will show up in a therapeutic space at practicum. How may these identities show up in the room, and what will you do to ensure that you are still operating from a place of providing culturally sensitive and responsive care to clients?
