For the assignment, compose an five-page essay (1500-1700 words).

Focus on one of the regions given below (as described by Anderson, International Studies). But, you are free to discuss any aspect(s)/issue(s) related to your interests.

Work on thematic cohesion. If you want to make disparate remarks, or address a number of themes, say so clearly in the introductory section. Be careful with assertions. Find data, quotes, and examples from the texts and Canvas to support them.

You must include "in-text" citations and a works cited/references page.

Use the following outline as a guide to help you organize your writing.

1. Introduction: Introduce the topic(s) or issue(s). Give necessary context to your reader and explain what you will discuss in the rest of the essay;

2. Methods: Explain your own disciplinary perspective (major, career, interests, etc.) and the kind of vocabulary your field uses to describe globalization and why;

3. Body: Examples and Readings - organize however you see fit, but make sure specific examples are used from the course reading;

4. Discussion: Include your thoughts, questions, concerns, opinions, etc.;

5. Conclusion: Implications for discipline/future career.

As you write, pay close attention to language and the terms you use, how, and why they are defined. Regardless of the citation style you choose, direct quotations from the readings are necessary for providing evidence for your analysis. This is a major requirement of the paper.

Also, plagiarism is a serious offence, so make sure you reread the syllabus for definitions of plagiarism and academic dishonesty.
