The terms recruitment and selection are often used interchangeably and the process is not always sufficiently planned. Explain the difference between the terms recruitment and selection and explain the characteristics of a good recruitment and selection process.  Discuss at least 4 different selection methods and explain the factors to be considered when choosing selection methods.

Additional Information:

The question is from Human Resource Management as well as it is about describing the terms recruitment and selection. Often these terms are employed interchangeably and it isn't always so. While recruitment is calling up the large pool of people, selection is the process of narrowing down the right candidates for job. It can be said that recruitment is the process prior to selection. The solution describes this in much more detail.
