NEED HELP TO RESPOND TO DISCUSSION, AND A QUESTION TO ASK IN RESPONSE

1. What is the difference between disparate treatment and disparate impact? How are these relevant in selection?

Disparate Impact is considered unintentional while Disparate Treatment is considered intentional.

These are relevant in selection as companies need to be aware of them and the implications. They need to be aware that their processes for selection can be discriminatory even if they don't appear that way as with Disparate Impact and need to ensure they are not treating a protected class differently.

2. What is the difference between staffing in the public sector and the private sector? Why would a private organization reject staffing processes public organizations use?

Public sector staffing can be complex and time consuming. They generally do not need to worry about making a profit and can take the time to go through the complex process.

Private sector staffing tends to be quicker and simpler. They are funded privately and need to make a profit which prompts them to reject the staffing processes public organizations use as they are too complex and time consuming.
