Case study: Diagnosis of Pt Primary Dysmenorrhea Women's Health
Part I
A 17 Y.O female, JC, presents to the office with her mother as a new client. Mrs. C states she has brought her daughter to see you because her previous provider did not take JC's complaint of pelvic pain seriously and claimed JC was malingering because she did not want to attend high school.
JC states she has been having severe LLQ pain intermittently for the past 6 months. This month the pain is so bad that she had trouble walking upright. The pain worsens before her menstrual period and gets "better" between periods.
She denies sexual intercourse or other sexual activity. JC denies alcohol, smoking or illegal drug use. JC is a scholar athlete in softball and denies any problems at school. She was given an Rx for naproxen 500 mg BID PRN, which only provides minimal relief.
