As an RN, you are part of the care team caring for a 10-year-old female who has been diagnosed with cancer. She appears cheerful and optimistic with her upcoming treatments. She and her parents have researched the web and have found many alternative treatments for her type of cancer. Her parents do express concerns with these alternative plans, but they want to be supportive of their daughter. Thus, they have not discussed this with her. The parents have been told the consulting team will discuss treatment plans with them. However, the patient wants to know when she can begin her chosen therapy as she does not want to do aggressive chemotherapy as she does not think chemotherapy is the best approach. Please answer the following questions.
