In this assessment, you have the opportunity to reflect on the approach(es) you have taken in developing and communicating your solutions to a real-world industry-driven sustainable development challenge. During this reflection, you should consider both your own developing understanding and engagement with sustainable development in the context of STEM, and equally, your continuing consideration of the importance of diversity, inclusion, equity and Reconciliation within sustainable development. This assessment allows you to reflect on your increasing understanding of - and capacity to - have agency in sustainable development. In so doing, you will reflect on the process, and your problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills and how you can take these into your future studies and professional life.

Reflection is a critically important skill both in study and in the workplace. Reflection enhances your learning, improves self-awareness, and helps with planning. Developing a routine or habit of reflection is called 'reflective practice'.

Through each of the milestones throughout Module 3, you will have reflected on your project, and the part you took in it weekly. You will find guiding questions at each milestone: SOLAR COOKING

  • What did you see/hear/read/do this past week that was relevant to sustainable development? This could have been in your workshop, lectorial, workplace, online learning or personal life.
  • How do these examples or ideas change your understanding of sustainable development? Can you relate these to concepts, frameworks or processes in sustainable development?
  • How does this relate to your career and/or studies and/or project?
  • How could you use this in your proposed solution? How did you incorporate or consider it in your proposed solution?
  • Did you do any testing, trialling or brainstorming for your solution? If you did, please add it to your Reflective Practice Journal (this could be an uploaded image, audio file, mind map, sketch etc.)
