Develop a clinical research proposal that, if implemented, will advance the field in a particular area where more research is needed. Justify your proposal with a literature review that demonstrates the need for this project. You should include an overarching research question as well as hypotheses that will guide this project. Be sure to consider all facets of the research process. Also, be sure that you develop a clinical research proposal. This can include an outcome study or a process-related study (what goes on in therapy). This does not mean you can study some family-related phenomenon and include a section of the proposal to include "clinical implications." For example, designing a study to see how depressed individuals respond to couple therapy in clinical research. In contrast, designing a study to know what the relationships of depressed couples look like and including a section on how to treat them in couple therapy would be basic, rather than clinical, research.
